KOLLAM KERALOTSAVAM

 The district-level Keralotsavam will be held here from November 26 to 29. Kerala Sports Council vice-president K. Thankappan will inaugurate the sports competitions at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Monday.The arts festival will be inaugurated the next day by Food and Civil Supplies Minister C. Divakaran.More than 2,000 persons will be competing in 59 events, including coconut palm climbing, paddy harvesting and tilling.

District panchayat president K. Somaprasad said the contestants were selected from 71 grama panchayats, two municipalities and also from the Kollam Corporation area.The district Keralotsavam is being held to select the team from the district for the State-level Keralotsavam to be held at Thrissur from December 6 to 9.
