വെള്ളക്കെട്ടില് വീണ്
മുത്തച്ഛനും
മൂന്ന് പേരക്കുട്ടികളും മരിച്ചു
Four persons of a family, including three children, drowned in a
water-logged quarry in Mankada Wednesday,25th December,2013. The deceased have been
identified as Bino (13), Sino (10), Sijo (13) and a native of Mannarkkad,
Devassya. The
stunning mishap occurred in the afternoon when the Bino, who was angling in the
water-filled quarry, got drowned and Sino and Sijo went to rescue Bino also got
drowned. Devassya, who didn't know swimming, also lost his life in a bid to
save the boys. Police
from Mankada and Fire force from Perinthalmanna conducted the rescue operation
along with the local residents and fished out bodies of the boys from water.
The body of Devassya was recovered by around 4.20 pm.

സ്വദേശി ആന്റണിയുടെ മക്കളായ സിനോ (9), ബിനോ (10), ആന്റണിയുടെ സഹോദരന്
ജോസഫിന്റെ മകന് സിജോ (12), ഇവരുടെ മുത്തച്ഛന് ദേവസ്യ(60) എന്നിവരാണ് മരിച്ചത്.
മണ്ണാര്ക്കാട് സ്വദേശിയായ ദേവസ്യ ക്രിസ്മസ് ആഘോഷിക്കാനാണ് മങ്കടയിലെ മകന്റെ
വീട്ടിലെത്തിയത്.
ക്രിസ്മസ് ആഘോഷിക്കാനെത്തിയ കുട്ടികള് ഉച്ചഭക്ഷണത്തിനുശേഷം വീടിന് സമീപത്തെ
ക്വാറിയില് മീന് പിടിക്കാന് പോയപ്പോഴാണ് അപകടത്തില്പ്പെട്ടത്.
വെള്ളക്കെട്ടിന് സമീപം ചെരിപ്പുകള് കണ്ടെത്തിയതിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് നാട്ടുകാര്
നടത്തിയ തിരച്ചിലിനൊടുവിലാണ് കുട്ടികളുടെ ജഡം കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.
