GUJARAT GOVERNMENT FORGETS DR KURIAN ON HIS 1^ST DEATH ANNIVERSARY

Ahmedabad: Gujarat government has conveniently forgotton Dr. Kurian on his first death anniversary. Kurien had dedicated his entire life for the milk farmers of the state and had eliminated poverty from Gujarat through milk revolution.. The inauguration of Vibrant Gujarat international agricultural mela, organized by the state government, was inaugurated on September 9, the first death anniversary of Dr Kurian. But not a single person, including chief minister Narendra Modi who inaugurated the mela, mentioned Dr Kurian's name. In the mela, which mainly discussed cattle farming and milk production, no one mentioned Dr Kurian's contributions and his well-received cooperative methods. 

Dr Kurian was not in good terms with Modi during his last period. Both engaged in war of words during a function held in Anand way back in 2004. The Cooperative registrar had questioned Kurian on using the car and driver of Amul even after his retirement and which created news. When Kurian's body was kept for public to pay homage, Modi, who reached till Nadiyad, 20 km distance from the place, didn't pay a visit.
