CSI BISHOP GEORGE ISAAC
CSI North Kerala Diocese former Bishop George Isaac, 69, passed away on Friday. The bishop breathed his last at Christian Medical College, Vellore, where he was undergoing treatment for cancer.He had received the Matagaonkar Award for outstanding service in health  sector and CMC Alumni award.Born to P J Isaac and Aleyma on August 4, 1944, at Fort Kochi, he completed  schooling there. He graduated in Political Science from St Albert’s College here. He joined the North Kerala Diocese in 1964 and continued his education at Leonard Theological Seminary in Jabalpur.
He was ordained a deacon in 1968 and was posted as an assistant at CSI Immanuel Church, Ernakulam. He was ordained presbyter in 1969 and was posted at St Man’s Kozhikode. In 1972, he joined Leonard Theological Seminary for Masters in Theology. He got married to Lilly of Kodukulanji in 1974.He was appointed a chaplain at CMC Vellore. Later he went to the US to join Chicago Theological College. Later, CSI Synod appointed him as the sixth bishop of North Kerala Diocese. He took voluntary retirement in 2006 due to ill health. The body will be brought here on Sunday by 4 pm and placed at CSI Immanuel Church for the public to pay last respects. The funeral   on Monday the 12th August,2013 at the CSI Immanuel Church, Boadway Ernakulam.
