MAGICAL MALDIVES

                           MAGICAL MALDIVES
The warm seas of Maldives with clear azure waters were what lured Kannada actor Vishal Hegde who loved his recent holiday with his newly-wed wife Priya. Here’s what the actor, who has acted in films like Ganda Hendathi, Ganesha Mathe Banda, Ninagaagi, Green Signal and others, shares about the trip.
He says, “Usually people make a trip to Maldives for scuba diving and enjoying the beautiful underwater world with thousands varieties of fish and over 3,000 coral reefs. But for us it was about relaxing on the beaches. Both of us are water lovers and have done water sports like jet skiing and scuba diving in the past. This time we just wanted to enjoy the tides and enjoy the view of the water with three shades — white, blue and green. We loved the amazing sunset and sunrise views and the dazzling sunbeam-lined waters are like a phantasm. We also tried some really calming spa therapies. The spa at the resort where we stayed was open to the sky and surrounded by greenery. It was very relaxing.”
Vishal adds, “We felt the best way to experience the life of an ordinary Maldivian is to explore the city with a guide and that’s what we did. We took a city tour and loved the brightly painted house walls and harbour areas, fishing villages and other places. We loved the fruit platters that were served to us at the Paradise Island resort where we stayed, so we actually went to the local fruit market to explore new varieties of fruits. The food was also delicious with fresh curries, barbeques and grills. We also bought some local handcrafts and beads as souvenirs for the family.
