A DIALOGICAL PILGRIMAGE

Book Review
A DIALOGICAL PILGRIMAGE

This is a book that tells the story of the history of interfaith dialogue  around the world. One of the first dialogue Centers in Kerala was started at Kottarakkara in the year 1994 in the name of Dr. Alexander Marthoma Valiya Metropolitian, as a follow up project of  Student’s Conference (1993). This Center was instrumental in promoting a culture of dialogue in Kerala.

In this book Dr. Abraham Karickam unravels the dialogue movement that originated with the second Vatican Council in 1962. The story of the Interfaith Department of the World Ccouncil of Churches (established in 1971) and its series of interfaith encounters are also narrated.  Interfaith Dialogue is not a process which should remain in high academic circles. It has to spread its wings into the grass root levels so that it becomes a common word among the ordinary people.

This book takes us through the world of interfaith dialogue for about a half a century. We get a clear picture of so many international Interfaith Conferences around the globe, which were pioneering the cause of lasting peace and harmony among religions and ideologies.
