VEGETABLE PRICE FALLS
IN KARNATAKA AND CHENNAI
The heavy rain across the country has brought down the vegetable price drastically. Vegetable vendors, who were selling coriander leaves for Rs 160/kg some days ago, are now forced to sell it for just Rs 11.Likewise, the prices of other vegetables have also gone down. Price of tomato has gone down to Rs 18 from Rs 60, whereas beans are being sold for Rs 25 from Rs 100.According to Ramesh L Gowda, a wholesale vegetable vendor at KR Market, the prices are expected to come down further if rain continues for some more days. Meanwhile, the price of onion has gone up in the state because of heavy rain in North Karnataka and Maharashtra. The onion price increased by Rs 10 in last 10 days.
