KADALUNDIPUZHA



The
Public Works Department will launch a beautification project on the banks of
the Kadalundipuzha at Panakkad.A river-side park being envisaged from
Chamakkayam to Panakkad along the Malappuram-Vengara Road will have a 600-metre
walkway, seats for visitors, gardens, and three river-view points. The
promenade will be four metres wide. The space left after the four-metre wide
walkway will be used for parking.A culvert at Panakkad will be expanded and
strengthened. A computer sketch prepared by Lensfed State vice-president U.A.
Shabeer has been approved.
Mr.
Shabeer submitted the sketches of the project to Minister for Industries P.K.
Kunhalikutty, P. Ubaidulla, MLA, and PWD (Roads) executive engineer Mohammed
Basheer.The officials said that technical sanction for the project was expected
soon.They said that the works could be launched within two months of the tender
process. Mr. Ubaidulla said that boating would be launched in the Chamakkayam
bund in the second phase of the project.
