TRIBUTE PAID TO 
PROF. K.V THAMPI
 Prof.K.V. Thampy, linguist, litterateur, journalist, and former head of the Department of Malayalam at Pathanamthitta Catholicate College, died at Kandanad in Ernamulam on Thursday, June 7, 2013  He was 76.He had stayed in Pathanamthitta for nearly 50 years.
He served as chairman of the Board of Studies of Mahatma Gandhi University. He translated Khalil Gibran’s ‘The Prophet’ and Kamala Surayya’s English poems into Malayalam. His own collections of Malayalam poems ‘Punarjanmam’ and ‘Pravasageethangal’ were notable.

 A Condolence was arranged on 9th June,2013, at Kottarakara  Kurakar Town Center at 3 p.m. under the auspicious of Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy. Prof. John Kurakar  presided over the condolence meeting. Prof. Varghese John, Prof. P.K Varghese, Prof. T.V Thomas, Prof. Molly Kurakar, Mr. Sam Kurakar, Dr. Abraham Karickom, Prof Rajan, Prof. Lalithambia, Mr. Manu Kurakar spoke on the occasion.
