HANG
RAPISTS,
NEED SHOCK
TREATMENT
Stating that the stronger anti-rape law passed by the parliament
recently was not sufficient to deal with people accused of rape, Sushma Swaraj
suggested Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde should immediately call a meeting of
political parties to discuss two changes needed in the law.
'We need two more changes in the anti-rape law...related to minor victims and such horrifying, soul churning instances (brutal sexual assault of a five-year-old girl),' said Swaraj.A five-year-old girl was abducted April 15 and kept hostage for two days without food and water in a room in which the attacker lived, on the ground floor of the building in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar, in which the victim's family also stayed. The accused Manoj Kumar, 25, was arrested from a village in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district early Saturday. The girl has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in the national capital.
