Kerala State Child Welfare Council has
selected six children for the State Children's Bravery Award -2012. The list
includes three awardees of this year's National Bravery Award, who had
displayed exemplary courage in saving the lives of others by putting at risk
their own lives.
Announcing the awards, social justice minister Dr M K
Muneer, who is also the vice-president of State Child Welfare Council, said the
jury led by additional director general of police armed battalion B Sandhya had
selected the awardees. Those selected for State Child Bravery Award are Nandana
M from Kollam, Ashrad Ashraf from Malappuram, Remith K from Kannur, Mebil
Cyriac from Alappuzha, Vishnu M V from Thrissur and Shalini K P from
Malappuram. The awards will be conferred by chief minister at a function in
Thiruvananthapuram in March.
