LAUNCH CIDAT ANDM-TBI
National Research Professor and cardiac
surgeon M.S. Valiathan will inaugurate the Centre for Innovation and
Development of Affordable Technologies (CIDAT) and the Medical Technology
Business Incubator (M-TBI) of the Pushpagiri Medical Society at a function at
the Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PIMSR) at Thiruvalla
on Wednesday,31st October,2012.In a statement here on Tuesday, Fr.
Abraham Mulamoottil, PMS chairman, said CIDAT was an enterprise aimed at
enabling innovation in broad areas of technology and management.Fr. Mulamoottil
said CIDAT would create a new insight, vision, and solutions to the problems
facing the healthcare services delivery in the State and the country as a
whole.It would offer cost-effective and innovative solutions to specific
problems in the healthcare industry and continue to excel through competitive
challenges.
The project would showcase the best
practices all over the world with a strategy to demonstrate how they could be
implemented in the State as well, said Fr. Mulamoottil.He said the PIMSR would
launch its own special purpose vehicle, Cardiot, headed by P.M.John, former
Housing Commissioner of Kerala, on the occasion.Metropolitan Archbishop of
Thiruvalla Thomas Mar Coorilos will preside over the inaugural function.Ananda
Chakraborthy, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at University of
Illinois; K.C. Chandrashekharan Nair, CFO of Technopark; M.D.Nair, healthcare
consultant, and Fr Mulamoottil will deliver keynote addresses Ramesh C.Deka,
Director of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, will release the
concept paper on CIDAT.Fr. Mathew Mazhavancheril, PIMSR director, and P.M.
John, Cardiot Managing Director, will address the function.
