Mar Pachomios, Metropolitan of Mavelikara Diocese passed away at a private
hospital IN Kochi on 1stAugust,2012(Wednesday.)Mar Pachomios was admitted to the Lake Shore hospital
here following liver related ailments.Born on January 26, 1946 he completed his
High school education from St.Thomas high school, Chingavanam. He later
graduated in Physics from S.B. College, Changanassery before joining Bethany
Ashram in 1968.A Master of Theology from Leeds University, he was
ordained to the holy Priesthood in 1974 and served as the superior of Bethany
Ashram in 1986, where he served until he was elected bishop.
