125TH ANNIVERSARY OF
KERALA ASSEMBLY

Governor K Sankaranarayanan inaugurated the year-long celebration of 125th
anniversary of Kerala Assembly,on 24th August,2012. Speaking on the
occasion, he said the number of coalition partners in any Government should be
reduced for effective functioning of the democracy. There should a discussion
among the political parties in this regard as the colaition politics could
adversely affect the accountability in the governance.
Speaking
on the occasion, Opposition leader VS Achuthahndan highlighted the importance
of necessary law to protest forest and agricultural lands.
He was
critical about the newly introduced contributory pension scheme by the
Government and said it could adversely affect the interest of working class
