ALKANET PLANT

ALKANET PLANT

Grassy plant growing here there in the South, in sandy areas, originating from Northern Africa. Its pivoting root, 20-25 cm long, of a dark red-violet color, contains alanine, used in the cosmetic, textile industry, etc. As a medicinal plant it is used only for its mild diuretic effect it produces. Add a teaspoon of finely ground root in 250 ml water. Boil for 15 minutes, then filter and you can consume it sweetened with honey. You can drink up to 2-3 cups of tea a day.
