Sitting Congress member P.J. Kurien, Kerala Congress (M) nominee Joy Abraham and  CPM candidate C.P. Narayanan have been elected to the Rajya Sabha from Kerala.While P.J.Kurien was elected after winning 37 first preference votes Joy Abraham and C.P.Narayanan were elected winning 36 first preference votes each. The second CPM candidate C.N. Chandran could manage to garner only 31 votes.Four aspirants were in the fray for three vacancies for which elections were held Monday.
In the 140-member House, the UDF has 73 MLAs, including the Speaker, and the LDF 67.
