KERALA HIGHCOURT ASKED TO SHUT DOWN ENGIONEERING COLLEGES IN THE STATE WITH LESS PASS
PERCENTAGE
In
a significant directive, the Kerala High Court has Thursday,28th June,2012,
asked to shut down self-financing engineering colleges in the state with less
pass percentage. The students of these institutions should be transferred
to other colleges, the court ruled, adding that the standard of higher
education in the state has deteriorated immensely.Engineering colleges with
pass percentage less than 40 face shut down following the court's ruling. The
observation comes after a study of academic results in various self-financing
colleges during the period 2008-2011.The court has also asked universities to
publish on the websites the results of various colleges during the past three
years.
