MALAYALI NURSE MURDERED IN MUMBAI

MALAYALI NURSE MURDERED IN MUMBAI
A 42-year old Malayali nurse was found brutally murdered at  her Vasai flat on Wednesday 4th April2012 morning. The police believe it to be the job of an insider as the victim had entertained an unidentified person before the murder. The killing came to light when Rozamma alias Bina Manaputra's son Aby (16) returned to their Anand Park home at around 11 am on Wednesday. He found the main door open and called out to his mother who was lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom. The victim's husband Anthony who works in Dubai has been informed about the murder. The Manikpur police reached the spot and found a blood stained tea cup on the centre table of the hall room. Another tea mug was found on the window.
Manaputra, who worked as a nurse with Golden Park hospital in Vasai for the past 17 years, had failed to report to work at 9am. A call to her cell phone and landline from the hospital went unanswered. The hospital staff then made a call to the building society office. The watchman attended the call and went to look out for Manaputra. He returned saying that the front door of the flat was open. He did not enter the flat. According to PI Chandrakant Jadhav of Manikpur police station, the killer hit the woman on the head with a heavy object which led to her death. The victim seemed to have given a tough fight as strands of hair were found on the ground. The murderer had placed hot iron on the woman's hands. The son, in his statement to the police, said that his mother used to have tea in a mug and never used a cup. The blood stained cup has been sent for forensic examination. A case of murder under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered against unknown person. A labourer working in an adjoining flat on the third floor told the police that he had seen a man entering and leaving the victim's flat. The police are ascertaining whether ornaments worn by the victim or other valuables are missing from the flat.
