The Malayalam edition of Limca Book of Records 2012 was released at a function The book features Keralas most acclaimed personalities, who have been Limca Book of Records, People of the Year, in the past, unveiled the book in the presence of over 300 people at the IMA Hall here.
Renowned cardiologist, Dr KM Cherian, famous singer K S Chitra, footballer I M Vijayan, and Shiva Keshavan, Indians first and youngest Luge Olympian, who are among those who have found place in the record book, were among those present. Vijaya Ghose, Editor, Limca book of Records and Akeel Mohamed, Senior VP, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCBPL), were also present at the function. Launched in India in 1990, Limca Book of Records catalogues the extraordinary achievements of Indians and inspires people to achieve more. The 2012 edition is a music special which has a separate section on music along with more than 10,000 records from various other fields.

Speaking at the launch, Vijaya Ghose, Editor Limca Book of Records said the record book which was now in its 23rd year, would continue in its endeavor of encouraging talent and achievements par excellence. This year is a Music Special edition. Akeel Mohamed said the Limca Book of Records as a 'remarkable platform' which brings to the fore astounding achievements of Indians from various fields. 'The value that people attach to this record book is unparalleled and that is what keeps us honest and motivated', he said.
