YOUTH WELFARE BOARD TO LAUNCH ANTI-PLASTIC DRIVE
‘Shun plastic, protect environment' will be the slogan of the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board that is taking up a State-level drive against plastics and providing free training in the manufacture of paper bags. The programme is being launched in association with the University of Kerala's Gandhian Study Centre, Kerala Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, and Swadeshi Grama Vikasana Centre. The drive against plastics will be launched in Thiruvananthapuram on April 4.
The camp to manufacture paper bags will be held at Gandhi Bhavan on April 2 and 3. Those interested in participating should register before March 30. The first 100 people who register for the camp will be given admission, the vice-chairman of the board said. For details, call 0471 2305663 and 9447 040831. As many as 100 people will be trained in all districts to manufacture paper bags during the months of April and May.
