KOVALAM DRINKING WATER SCHEME
The Kerala Government has given administrative sanction for the Rs 15 crore drinking water scheme in the internationally-acclaimed tourism destination Kovalam and its surrounding areas. Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar said in a release , that The tourism department would provide Rs 14 crore for the scheme, while the City Corporation had set apart Rs 1 crore. On completion of the project, the drinking water shortage problem in the entire area would be fully solved. Besides Kovalam beach, nearby Vizhinjam and Venganur panchayats would be benefitted by the scheme, he said. State Water Authority would execute the project, which would be completed within a year, the Minister said.
