K. JAYAKUMAR IS NEW CHIEF SECRETARYThe cabinet on Wednesday, 28th March, 2012, decided to appoint IAS officer and writer K Jayakumar as chief secretary. He would take charge from P Prabhakaran. Jayakumar is from the 1978 IAS batch. Son of M Krishnan Nair he is also a film director. He began his official stint as Kozhikode asst district collector. Jayakumar was a noted poet and lyricist and had served as secretary in the tourism, culture and education department. He was also chief commisssioner of Travancore Devaswom Board and addl chief secy of the Home department, IT secretary of union culture department. He was born on October 1952. Film director Sreekuttan is his brother. Wife Meera and have 2 children.
