HEALTHY LIVING CAN REDUCE STRESS
A more holistic health experience is definitely good for the stressed out lifestyles of those in showbiz, remarked Shreya Kishore, Miss India 2008 while Akshita Agnihotri, first runner up 2011, Kingfisher Calendar Hunt, believes that ayurvedic routines would help not only people in the fashion and film world but also all people who lead stressful lives. The ayurvedic concept of a beautiful body derives its strength from connecting people more with nature even while following a modern lifestyle. Making this point, A. M. Anwar, chairman and managing director of Punarnava Ayurveda Hospitals, said that the Kingfisher Ultra Kochi International Fashion Week would redefine the notion of beauty through ayurveda.
Other members of the Fashion Week who participated in the event on Sunday at the Punarnava Bamboo Lagoor Ayurveda Village are Tania Singh, Miss India Canada, 2009; Anjum Fakhi, Ford super model – first runner up 2011; Pooja Bhamrah, Queen of India 2011 and Aparna Dubey, model from Bangalore. Ayurveda is not all massage and rejuvenation, said Dr. Anwar. The curative treatment is its strength, he said. The challenges of non-communicable diseases are not new to ayurveda as the system focuses on better lifestyle through the practice of living in harmony with nature. “We exclude ourselves when we think of nature”, he said. The concepts of ayurveda are yet to catch on in the fashion world even as it comes as a holistic package to ease stressful lives so that people can look their best on the ramp or on screen or in the public limelight.
