SCHOOL YOUTH FESTIVAL BEGAN

SCHOOL YOUTH FESTIVAL BEGAN

The 52nd School Youth Festival was inaugurated Monday, 16th January, 2012, by singer K.J. Yesudas .Speaking on the occasion Yesudas said that the students and parents should behave upholding the values of art. Inaugurating the Youth Festival singer K.J. Yesudas said that the trend of giving grace marks for winners in the Youth Festival adversely affect the arts."I went back from the competition stage without even getting a certificate. But what paved my growth was the second place I won in that youth festival. I did not try to find out the faults of the judges. Instead I tried to iron out my own faults. Let competent judges evaluate the performance He also said that the festival needs judges who have a sense of justice and the participants who have faith in the judges. Education Minister P. K. Abdu Rabb presided over the function.A procession taken out by students from 70 schools in and around the town was colourful. The visualisation of the inauguration song, penned by town's own poet Yusaf Ali Kechery, was one of the other attractions on the opening day.
