 EXPERT VISITS ALUVA MANALPURAM

: As part of the ongoing dam-break analysis on the Mullaperiyar dam, S.K. Misra, Associate Professor at the Water Resource Management Department at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee held a visit to the Aluva Manalpuram, on Friday (30^th December,2011).A preliminary study report in this regard would be submitted to the State government by January 15 while the detailed report was proposed to be given within six months, he added.According to him, the report would analyse the total loss in the downstream areas in three stages — from Mullaperiyar dam to Idukki dam; Idukki dam to Boothathankettu dam; and Boothathankettu dam to the Arabian Sea.
