GOPI KRISHNAN RECEIVED
JOURNALIST AWARD-2011-12
J Gopi Krishnan of 'The Pioneer' and Udayan Mukherjee of CNBC TV 18 were presented Ramnath Goenka Journalist of the Year Award in print and broadcast categories respectively by Vice President Hamid Ansari on Monday. CNBC managing editor Udayan Mukherjee was adjudged best journalist of the year(2011-12)Apart from Gopi Krishnan Sujith Nair from Malayala Manorama received award for best political reporting,. GS Vivek from Indian Express for Sports reporting and VP Rajeena from Madhayamam daily for best reporting in vernacular dailies.
They were among more than 30 journalists awarded in various categories. While receiving the award, Gopi Krishnan, who got the award for his investigative stories on the 2G telecom spectrum case in the print category, said he dedicated the award to his newspaper and its editor.
. The awards were instituted by the Indian Express Group in 2006 to recognize the stories that needed to be told while adhering to the highest standards of ethics.
