ALUVA EDUCATION SUB-DISTRICT BAGS CHAMPIONSHIP IN SCHOOLS ARTS FESTIVAL
Aluva educational sub-district raced ahead of Ernakulam to emerge winners in both the high school and higher secondary categories of the 24th edition of the Ernakulam revenue district schools arts fest that concluded on Friday. (6th January,2012) Ernakulam could not upset the winning streak maintained by Aluva from day one of the festival. When the final point tally was announced by around 9 p.m., Aluva won 318 points in the high school category. Ernakulam was close behind, with 309 points, followed by Tripunithura educational sub-district with 300 points. It was a close finish in the higher secondary category. But Aluva edged past stiff competition from Ernakulam, and finished first with 383 points. Ernakulam won 376 points while Tripunithura bagged the third position with 330 points.
In the Upper Primary category, Mattanchery won the first place with 127 points. Aluva won the second position with 124 points. Tripunitura and Angamaly shared the third place with 121 points. Aluva educational sub-district won the Upper Primary (Sanskrit Kalotsavam) high school category after it won 91 points followed by Angamaly with 84 points. Perumbavoor, Tripunithura and North Paravur shared the third position with 81 points. In the UP category, Angamaly emerged winners with 85 points. Tripunithura came second with 81 points. Aluva and North Paravur shared the third place with 72 points. In the Arabic Kalotsavam upper primary category, Perumbavoor won the first place with 65 points followed by Tripunithura and Ernakulam with 63 and 56 points respectively. Perumbavoor and Tripunitura emerged joint winners in the high school category with 92 points each. Kolenchery came second with 91 points followed by Aluva (87 points).
