DAM 999 SONGS SHORLISTED FOR OSCARS

DAM 999 SONGS SHORTLISTED FOR OSCARS
Sohan Roy's Dam 999 might have created controversies in India but that has not stopped the film from entering into the Oscar race. Three songs from the film have been shortlisted in the Original Song category for the 84th Academy awards. ‘Dakkanaga Dugu Dugu’, ‘Dam 999 Theme Song’ and ‘Mujhe Chhod Ke’ are among the 39 shortlisted songs for the prestigious Oscars and the final nominations will be announced on January 24, 2012. Interestingly the film, released last month, was banned in Tamil Nadu for supposedly taking a pro-Kerala stand in the Mullaperiyar dam row. Earlier in 2009 Indian music maestro A.R. Rahman has won two Oscar awards for Best Original score and Best Original Song for Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle. So can the controversial Dam 999 bring the Oscars back to India again? Let's wait and watch
