CRACKER UNIT BLAST

Four persons were killed in a cracker unit blast at Athani near Thrissur, Wednesday28th December,2011..The owner of the unit Joffi was among those killed. While two persons died on the spot, others died at the hospital. The impact of the blast was so huge that glass windows of houses which were kilometers away from the spot were broken. According to reports there were 12 persons at work at the place.

Four persons were killed and 10 were injured on when an explosion ripped through a firecracker unit in Athani in Thrissur at 12.30 pm. Among the four , three are from Bihar and police identified Naresh Mahatho from Bihar.The fire cracker unit owned by Chemban Devasya from Athani was exploded. It is reported that 10 to 15 people worked there. The seriously injured were rushed to hospital.
