DROWNED IN KABANI RIVER

Kalpetta: Two brothers, who were part of 16-member tourist team, drowned in the Kabani River at Pannikkalkadavu near the entrance to Kuruva. The deceased are Ajith, 19, and Sreekuttan,16, children of V.A. Ramanan of Vanchippurakkal at Chirakkakam near Varapuzha in Ernakulam district. They were drowned by Tuesday,           27^th December,2011, after noon. Ajith was drowned first as he was swept away by strong current. Sreekuttan tried to save Ajith but was also caught in the current. Though Sreekuttan was saved and natives rushed him to hospital, his life could not be saved.Ajith's body was fished out around 4 p.m. following a search by villagers and tourist guides of the island. Ajith is the student at Kalamassery ITI and Sreekuttan is plus two student at Paravoor Lakshmi college. Pushpa is their mother.
