NORTH MALABAR GRAMIN BANK-2011
The North Malabar Gramin Bank (NMGB) has bagged the Banking Excellence Award 2011 instituted by the State Forum of Bankers' Clubs Kerala in recognition of the bank's rural development activities in the State. A press release issued by NMGB said here that bank Chairman V.K. Saigal had received the award from former Supreme Court Judge V.R. Krishna Iyer at a function in Kochi on December 17. The bank won the award for its initiatives in agricultural development, financial inclusion, priority sector/agricultural lending, disbursements to self-help groups, and distribution of Krishi cards, and formation of farmers' clubs, it said.
