STATE FILM AWARDS DISTRIBUTED

 The 41st state film awards were distributed on Monday evening at a ceremony marked with glitz and glamour. Chief minister Oommen Chandy distributed the awards in the function held at Gireesh Puthencherry Nagar (Corporation Stadium). Minister K B Ganesh Kumar presided over the function. The award for best film was accepted by director Salim Ahmed and producer Ashraf Bedi for Adaminte Makan Abu. Syamaprasad accepted award for best director (Electra), Salim Kumar (Best actor for Adaminde Makan Abu), Kavya Madhavan (Gadhama). Chandy said Malayalees always approach films in a good way and the government would try to uplift the film industry. Minister KB Ganesh Kumar said Malayalees love movies and so there is need for good theaters to make them watch good movies. Tamil actress Soorya and actor Dileep were the chief guests.

MK Raghavan MP released the memorial for Chalachithra Academy by giving a copy to Gandhimathi Balan and MV Sreyamskumar MLA released the brochure about film awards by giving a copy to actor Dileep. Chairman and film director Priyadarshan presented the academy report. FIAF vice president PV Gangadharan and KM Shaji were also present. Minister Dr MK Muneer welcomed the gathering and collector Dr PB Salim delivered vote of thanks.A musical night followed which began with a welcome song on Kozhikode written by Kanesh Punoor and music by Thej Mervin. Noted singers, including Hariharan, participated. The dance night by Bhavana, Vineeth Kumar, Ramya Nambeesan, Vishnu Priya and Shaman Kasim added colour to the show.
