RAJA RAVI VARMA AWARD FOR CL PORINCHUKUTTY
Noted artist and art teacher C L Porinchukutty has been selected for the kerala government's prestigious Raja Ravi Varma Puruaskaram this year in recognition of 'his outstanding contribution to art and culture.'Announcing the award, Culture Minister K C Joseph said the award comprises a cash prize of Rs 1.25 lakh and a citation.
Porinchukutty is famous artist, art teacher, secretary of Kendra Lalithakala Academy and as its vice chairman, principal of Thiruvananthapuram Fine Arts college. He was selected by the jury comprising Lalithakala Academy chairman KA Francis as president and noted sculpture Kanayi Kunjiraman, noted artist Paul Kallanodu, Guruvayur Mural Institute Principal KU Krishnakumar, Cultural department principal secretary Sajan Peter as members.
