QUAKE FELT IN IDUKKI

Earthquakes measuring 2.8 and 3.4 on Richter scale was experienced at 5.29 am and 5.48 am respectively in some parts of Idukki district and some places in Kottayam district bordering with Idukki Thursday17th November, 2011.The tremor was felt in Moolamattom, Kulakavu, Valakode, Cheruthoni, Pashuppara, Upputhara, Mullapperiyar, Vandipperiyar, Kumali, Kattappana, Pala, Irattupetta, etc.The tremor caused panic in the areas but no casualty has been reported. Scientists informed that there is no reason to panic.
