GETS RS 62 LAKH AID FROM UNION SPORTS MINISTRY
Long jumper Mayookha Johny will get Rs 62 lakh as aid for her training from the central sports ministry. Mathrubhumi had reported about the hurdles behind the star's attempts to go for special training in Germany. Mathrubhumi reported about the incident where the German embassy denied visa for Mayookha and her coach GR Shyam Kumar and after the news was published, minister KB Ganesh Kumar brought the matter under the consideration of union sports minister Ajay Maken . In this the union ministry immediately announced an assistance of Rs 52 lakh. The state sports council also decided to provide Rs 8 lakh. Mayookha, who has been qualified for triple jump in London Olympics, is going to Germany to grab a berth to contest in long jump too.
