INDIA- MEDICAL TOURISM DESTINATION

Leading Indian hospitals and medical practitioners have descended on Kuwait to highlight the potential of medical tourism in India and to attract Kuwaitis seeking world class facilities and treatment. The India Medical Tourism destination (IMTD), a three-day meet, opened here with 33 leading hospitals from India and a number of prominent Indian doctors participating in the event.
Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Satish C Mehta, said India and Kuwait had age-old relationship as he hoped the meet would provide an opportunity to the Indian and the Kuwaiti healthcare professionals to build a long-term mutually beneficial relationship. President of Indian Doctors Forum, Kuwait, Dr Nampoory, highlighted the high standards of medical facilities available in India from the pre-historic times that could be utilised by the Kuwaiti citizens. Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism of Andhra Pradesh also highlighted the efforts made by the government of his state for the promotion of medical tourism
