VALAKOM TEACHER KRISHNAKUMAR’S STATEMENT RECORDED

VALAKOM TEACHER KRISHNAKUMAR’S STATEMENT RECORDED

The magistrate recorded the statement of Krishnakumar who was brutally assaulted at Valakam a few days back. Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate A M Ashraf reached the medical college hospital and took Krishnakumar's statement. The statement was taken in the ICU and video graphed for about 40 minutes. After the magistrate left, the special police team probing the case reached the hospital and recorded the statement too. The details given by Krishnakumar was not revealed. The condition of Krishnakumar is showing slight improvement. Hospital sources said that Krishnakumar is out of danger.
The police again questioned Jyotsan Sreekumar who was seen with Krishnakumar just before the incident happened. Sreekumar is under the watchful eyes of the police for some time. Police also recorded phone details of Sreekumar.Meanwhile, it is learnt that the police have valid clues in the Valakam teacher attack case. Based on this, IG Padmakumar reached Kottarakara on Saturday. He will hold a meeting with police officers. Those who are suspected to have conducted the attack are under the supervision of the police.
The gruesome incident took place Tuesday night, when Krishna Kumar was found in a badly injured state near Kottarakara, some 70 km from here. Highway police first took him to a local hospital there and he was later moved to the Medical College Hospital here as his condition was serious. Apart from Magistrate A.M. Ashraf, the police also took Kumar's statement and the entire process was videographed. This issue rocked the Kerala assembly Friday and Speaker G. Karthikeyan had to wind up the day's proceedings after the opposition alleged that R. Balakrishna Pillai, a jailed leader of the ruling Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), and his minister son K.B. Ganesh Kumar were behind the attack.Incidentally, both Kumar and his wife K.R. Geetha work in the school that is managed and run by Pillai. Geetha told reporters here that she was not allowed to remain with her husband when his statement was recorded.
