VALAKOM ATTACK PROBE EXTENDING TOWARDS EXTREMIST OUTFITS

The probe in the Valakam attack case in which a teacher was brutally attacked, is pointing towards an extremist organization. It is reported that the investigation team got some vital clues on the involvement of the group. A similar kind of attack was held in Kovalam in 2006 against a middle-aged man and there too the man was assaulted in the anus. In Kovalam incident the natives spotted the man bleeding and admitted him to a hospital. In this too police suspected an organization with extremist thoughts. Though the crime branch took over the case later it has not proceeded further due to lack of evidence.

DySP Shanavas of the investigation team reached Thiruvananthapuram on Monday and collected statements from doctors. The team would also get statements collected by the Thiruvananthapuram first class judicial magistrate AM Ashraf by Tuesday. The teacher Krishanakumar, who is undergoing treatment after being attacked, Thursday revised his earlier statement in which he denied visiting Kadakkal in Kollam. He told DySP Shanawas and his team that he had visited Kadakkal on the day he was attacked. The police also recorded the statement of his wife Gita. Both have been recorded on video too.According to reports the police have also questioned them about their money transactions
