PSLV PUTS 4 SATELLITES IN ORBIT
Vessel sat(29 kg) from Luxembourg will help in locating ships cruising in the sea lanes of the world.
the fourth stage fired the four in orbit after 21 minuts of flawless flight, the 19th consective success of the PSLV, prompting P.S Veeraraghavan, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram to brand it a perfect Satellite Launch vehicle. K Radhakrishnan, Chairman,Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) called the flight a grand success" and said the information received from the Megha Tropiques satellite would be useful to the global community for measuring the precipitation in the tropical regions of the world. Twenty one scientific teams from several countries would research on weather in the tropical countries.
" The Megha-Tropiques promises to give us very special dat" said Dr. Narasimha, who was former Director,National Aerospace Laboratories,Bangalore. It will provide simultaneous data on humiditymrainfall, water vapour, temperature etc.

India's polar Satellite Launch vehicle (PSLVC18) demonstrated its reliability and consistency yet again when it put four satelites in orbit with aplomb on Wednesday 12 th October,2011. The Satellites were Megha Tropiques, an Indo- French Mission to study the weather and climate in the tropical regions of the world. weight 1,ooo kg. an Indo French Mission with four scientific instruments, will help in predicting Indian monsoons, floods, cyclones and droughts, besides estimating weather in the short term and climate in the long term in tropical countries.
SRM (10kg) built by students of SRM University,Chennai, will address global warming and pollution in the atmosphere by monitoring carbon dioxide.
Jugnu (3kg), a venture by students of IIT- Kanpur, is a remote- sensing satellite that will minor vegetation water bodies.Vessel sat(29 kg) from Luxembourg will help in locating ships cruising in the sea lanes of the world.
