MATHRUBHUMI SEED GAINS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
Mathrubhumi has gained special recognition at the World Young Reader prize of World Association of Newspapers and News Publications (WAN -IFRA). The Seed project of Mathrubhumi, implemented in schools in Kerala, achieved the honour. Mathrubhumi SEED gained special recognition of the jury in the section public service sector. The jury observed that the aim of Seed project is to make the student aware of environment protection and awareness. They said the efforts by Mathrubhumi is worth commendable and would be a model for other newspapers too. The 11-member jury comprising experts from various countries led by WAN -IFRA young leadership executive director Arlin McCain decided on the prizes. Mathrubhumi managing director MP Veerendrakumar and managing editor PV Chandran will receive the award at a function to be held in Vienna on Wednesday, 12th October, 2011.
