KERALA CHIEF MINISTER OOMMEN CHANDY URGED THE MAHARASTRA GOVERNMENT TO SOLVE NURSES PROBLEMS
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Saturday,22nd October,2011 urged the Maharashtra Government to solve the issues raised by nurses, who are on strike alleging harassment by the authorities of Asian Heart Hospital at Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai.The Chief Minister, who spoke to the agitating nurses over telephone, assured them all help including accommodation and food with the help of Norka office in Mumbai, official sources said.He also directed the ADGP to ensure security for the agitating nurses, it said.
Earlier, 22-year old nurse, Beena Bebi, committed suicide following alleged harassment by the hospital authorities.The agitating nurses also demanded return of their certificates, which are in possession of the hospital management, without the penalty of Rs 50,000. The act by the hospital authorities is against the Supreme Court ruling, they alleged.
