       KALAMANDALAM TO BE MADE A TOURISM CENTRE

        The Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University for Art and Culture will be made a major tourism centre. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy felicitate the Padma award recipients, and to lay the foundation for various Kalaris ( training Centres) He said that art and culture had the strength to  unify people. We should preserve the state's unique traditions of art and culture. Cultural Affairs Minister K.C Joseph said that a grant of 12 crore was expected from the centre for development projects at Kalamandalam.
   Kathakali actor Madavur Vasudevan Nair, dancer Kalamandalam Kshemavathy and percusionist Peruvanam Kuttan Marar were felicitated.
