THE HINDU YOUNG WORLD QUIZ-2011


The Twelfth edition of ‘The Hindu Young World Quiz 2011' will be held at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan in Secunderabad on Saturday, October 29, at 2 p.m.The multi-city quiz which has completed 21 years will be held in Madurai, Trichi, Coimbatore, Salem, Chennai, Puducherry, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mangalore, Hubli, Kozhikode, Kochi and finally at Thiruvananthapuram. The All India Final will also be held in Tiruvananthapuram on November 14. There will be a preliminary round of written test at each centre to select six teams for the regional finals. Winning team from each region will be eligible to participate in the national final at Thiruvananthapuram.
A maximum of four teams from each school may participate in the quiz, with two students per team drawn from Classes VII to IX. Over 600 teams are expected to participate in the regional event from the city and outstation centres such as Adilabad, Kurnool, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Mancherial, Nandyal, Nizamabad, Nanded, Bidar and Gulbarga. Playback singer Sunitha will be the chief guest for the event. Velammal Educational Trust is the title sponsor, Extramarks Education Pvt.
