                            THIRUVATHIRA  ARTS AND SPORTS CLUB CELEBRATED
                                     ONAM FESTIVAL AND 5TH ANNUAL MEETING


Ayppalloor Thiruvathira Arts and Sports Club celebrated this years(2011) Onam Celebration and 5th Annual Meeting was held at Ayppalloor Kurakar Ground on 11th September (Chathayam Onam Day). The Onam celebration began at 8 am on 11th September with Flag Hoisting by Patron Mr. C.Chacko Kurakaran, SI of Police ,Crime Branch.Sports competitions started at 9 am. Music chair,Mittayai peruckal, Biscat Kadi, Race with lame, Chakkil Kayari ottam, 1000meter race, Kuppiyil Vellam Nirackal,Sundarikku pottuthodil, Muttayeru, Kanaponnu, Uriyadi, Vadamvali, Chattumkandathil ottamalsaram, Kazhakayattam. More than two dozen sports items included in the sports competition. Arts Programme started at 3 pm.


  Public meeting was at 6 pm. Prof. John Kurakar presided. The function started with silent prayer. Mr PMG Kurakaran welcomed the gatherings. Rejimon Varghese inaugurated the celebration. Mr Mathews Koshy, Advocate Alex Mathew,, Mrs Sarasu Samuel, Mr.Cheriyan P.Koshy  were spoke on the occasion. Prof. John Kurakar distributed  the prizes. After the public meeting Arts prograame  and Drama"  Amrutha Sagaram" started at 9.30 pm. Mr. Anandhan, Mr Balan, Mr Sundaran, Mr. Ratheesh, Mr. R. Shiju.Y ,Mr. Mahesh.B, Mr. Abhijith J.S were active members of the Thiruvathira Arts and Sports
