TRIBUTE PAID TO
VETERAN JOURNALIST K.A PANICKER
Veteran journalist K A Panikkar (75), who served the Kottayam bureau of Deshabimani daily, passed away due to old age-related ailments on Tuesday, 23rd, August, 2011.. He was admitted to a private hospital in Kottayam and passed away in the hospital. He is survived by his wife Kummanam Kottarathil Aanandam. Children Mini Aravind (Kottayam Deshabimani), Sini Aravind (Kottayam Urban Bank), and Mani Aravind (Teacher).
A strong Communist, he had served jail sentence in 1964 along with AKG, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, Sundarayya, etc. The last rites would be held on Tuesday evening at the Muttambalam crematorium. He had also served as the Kottayam.Press Club secretary.
