RECEIVED EXCESS RAINFALL
(Six Rajasthan districts receive excess rainfall this monsoon 2011)

Six districts in the desert state of Rajasthan have received excess rainfall while 11 have recorded average rain in the monsoon season, according to the weather office. ainfall in 14 districts is under deficit category and two districts are falling under scanty category. No district recorded abnormal rainfall (above 60 per cent, according to the rainfall data compiled by the weather office. owever, Rajasthan as a whole has recorded normalrainfall. Ajmer, Kota and Udaipur divisions have received normal rainfall whereas Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Jodhpur divisions are falling under deficit category.

Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh are under scanty category These districts received only 14 and 25 mm rain against normal of 131.90 and 173.90 mm respectively from June 1 to August 13. Churu, Tonk, Baran, Doongerpur, Banswara and Pratapgarh  have recorded excess rainfall (20 per cent to 59 per cent above normal) and 14 districts including Jaipur, Dausa, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Ajmer, Jaisalmer, Sirohi have recorded deficit rainfall. From June 1 to August 13, the state receives an average rainfall of 268.70 mm. The state has received 296.94 mm during the period this year.(2011)
