TRIBUTE PAID TO S.P RAMESH,
 THE SCREENPLAY WRITER


Writer, lyricist and screenplay writer S.P. Ramesh passed away here Saturday,30th July,2011,. He was 64.A former director of Mental Health Institute, Thrissur ,Ramesh wrote screenplays for award winning films including 'Pokkuveyil' and 'Margam'. He was a close associate of director Aravindan, considered one of the geniuses of Malayalam cinema.'Pokkuveyil' (Twilight) which told the story of a young man's slow mental break-up is considered a masterpiece by Aravindan. The 1981 film won the state film award for best director.The 2003 film 'Margam' won seven Kerala State Film Awards including the one for Best Screenplay was co-scripted by - Rajiv Vijayaraghavan, Anwar Ali and S. P. Ramesh. The film also won a national film award.S.P. Ramesh was also a lyricist for films like Anthiponvettam and Soothradharan.
