ANTONY TO INAUGURATE RICE AT RS1 PER KG SCHEME ON AUGUST 27, 2011

Kerala government's ambitious scheme to provide rice at Rs 1 per kg to BPL families will be formally launched by Defence Minister A K Antony  on Saturday,27^th August,2011.The "rice at Rs 1 per kg" scheme would benefit 20,56,535 ration card holders and inmates of orphan homes, Food and Civil Supplies Minister T M Jacob said today. The scheme was aimed at creating "poverty-free" Kerala, he said in a statement.
