KERALA PLANS
 RIGHT TO SERVICE ACT

Kerala government plans to bring in a legislation to ensure that the various public services extended by the government becomes the right of the citizen, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here today,3rd, August,2011.The law department has been asked to prepare a draft bill on Right to Service Act similar to the Right to Information Act,  Mr Oomman Chandy said after a cabinet meeting. It was also decided to strengthen the anti-defection law pertaining to the Local Self-governments by amending the relevant rules, he said. Provisions applicable in Parliament and assembly would be brought in, Chandy said.

The cabinet decided to set up a State Minority Development Financial Corporation to get more funds from the National Minority Development Financial Corporation, he said.
