MAN BURN INJURIE TO HIS SON
 FOR STEALING RS.200

A case has been registered against a man for causing burn injuries to his son with a red hot iron knife. The alleged crime was the boy had stolen Rs 200 from his uncle. 12-year-old Vishnu is under treatment in a hospital. Vishnu, who went to Chathannor government HS on Monday morning, was called back by his friends saying that his granny called him. When he reached home, his father beat up Vishnu alleging he had stolen money from his uncle's pocket. Later he burnt his left hand, stomach and right leg with a red-hot iron. 

Vishnu's father was drunk during the time of assault and is absconding after the incident. His uncle admitted Vishnu to a private hospital and was later shifted to Royal hospital as the injury was serious. The boy told the policemen not to harass his father as he is Vishnu's only support. Vishnu's mother is no more
